| Thermal image goggles allow to observe infra-red radiation invisible to a human eye in the range of 8-14 microns. The picture observable in thermal device corresponds to a thermal relief of object and because the temperature, for example, of an alive object is usually higher than of the background, it is easily detected. For example, it is difficult to detect a person in a camouflage on a green background in the device of night vision. With the help of thermal imager it can be done easily. They detect and recognise objects in conditions at which devices of night vision are not effective, for example, at a fog and mist, in difficult conditions of the background. But it is necessary to take into consideration that thermal devices do not allow to identify fine details of objects because the thermal image changes when the temperature of the object changes (for example, man's face) and it differs from the image of night vision observable in the device.
They are intended for detection of:
- Heat-radiating objects (man, animal, car, etc.);
- Heat leakage in heating mains and houses;
- Heating of electric mains and industrial equipment, etc.;
- Inflammation focuses in men and animals (in the medical purposes).
